At Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals, you’ll own your setup and run from start to finish. In this hands-on role, you’ll independently produce tight-tolerance metal components—executing cutting, drilling, milling, boring, and broaching directly from work orders, blueprints, drawings, templates, and layouts.

A day in this role
- Set up and run manual lathes without supervision, including changing chucks and dialing in machine heads.
- Sweep tables, indicate vises and workpieces, and verify alignment before first cut.
- Interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents to plan the sequence of operations.
- Perform OD/ID turning, tapping, threading, and reaming with consistent accuracy.
- Carry out face, angular, form, straddle, and gang milling using the right attachments and tooling.
- Apply indexing methods—direct, plain/simple, compound, differential, and angular—calculating divisions as needed.
- Select and use milling accessories: arbors, adapters, collets, vises, rotary/circular tables, indexing heads and tailstocks, and vertical milling attachments.
- Coordinate and oversee complex machining operations to meet throughput and quality targets.
- 2–5 years of experience in manual machining within a manufacturing environment.
- Above-average math skills for precision layouts and indexing calculations.
- Deep knowledge of machine tools, machining operations, feeds/speeds, and workholding.
- Expert use of metrology tools: calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and comparators.
- Physical stamina, fine motor control, and exceptional attention to detail.
