Part-time / Contract (1099)
MI Place Studio is seeking a part-time Podcast Studio Assistant to support podcast recordings, studio promotion, and client experience. This role is ideal for someone interested in podcasting, media production, and content creation who wants hands-on experience in a working podcast studio.
The assistant will help prepare the studio for sessions, support recording setups, capture promotional content, and assist in promoting the studio online. Over time, this role may grow into independently producing and running podcast sessions.
Key Responsibilities
Studio Setup & Client Support
- Assist with setting up cameras, microphones, lighting, and recording equipment
- Prepare the studio before sessions and reset the space after recordings
- Welcome clients and ensure they are comfortable and ready to record
- Monitor basic audio/video quality during sessions
- Help maintain a clean and organized studio environment
Studio Promotion
- Capture behind-the-scenes content during sessions
- Help create social media posts and short-form clips
- Assist with promoting MI Place Studio through social media and local outreach
- Support occasional studio events or promotional activities
Podcast Production (Growth Opportunity)
- Learn how to operate studio equipment and recording software
- Assist with managing recordings and organizing files
- Potentially run podcast sessions independently as skills develop
Schedule
- 6–10 hours per week
- Primarily evenings and weekends based on studio bookings
Typical studio hours:
Weekdays: after 6 PM
Weekends: after 1 PM
- $15 per hour
- Additional earning opportunities available for:
- Helping generate new studio bookings or client referrals
- Hosting your own podcast recorded at MI Place Studio
- Supporting sales or promotional initiatives
Qualifications
- Interest in podcasting, media production, or content creation
- Comfortable learning basic audio and video equipment
- Reliable, organized, and personable
- Familiar with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
- Customer service mindset when working with clients
Bonus Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with cameras, audio equipment, or OBS
- Video editing experience (CapCut, Premiere, etc.)
- Content creation or podcast hosting experience
