At Mi Paso Centroamericano, we're more than a restaurant. We're a home away from home. Located in the heart of Washington Heights, we've been serving authentic Salvadoran and Central American cuisine to our community for years. From our beloved pupusas to our hearty sopas, every dish is made with love and tradition. We're looking for warm, people-loving servers to join our family and help us deliver that same love to every guest who walks through our doors.
What You'll Do
- Welcome every guest like family, greet them warmly, make them feel at home, and be attentive from the moment they sit down to the moment they leave
- Guide guests through our menu with confidence, sharing your knowledge of our Salvadoran and Central American dishes and helping them find their new favorite meal
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using our TouchBistro POS system
- Upsell specials, drinks, and menu highlights to enhance the guest experience
- Serve food and beverages promptly while keeping tables clean and presentations sharp
- Work closely with our kitchen team to ensure every order comes out right and on time
- Handle guest questions and concerns with patience, warmth, and a solutions-first attitude
- Help maintain the cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere of the dining area
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in food service or a restaurant setting
- Spanish fluency is required - our team and the majority of our guests are Spanish-speaking and you must be able to communicate comfortably in both English and Spanish
- Comfortable using TouchBistro or similar POS systems (we'll train the right person!)
- Genuine love for hospitality and taking care of people
- Friendly, energetic, and dependable
- Ability to stay calm and efficient during busy service hours
- Basic math skills for accurate billing and cash handling
- A passion for food and an eagerness to learn about our menu and culture
