What the Physiology Tech Will Do: Responsible for the performance of physiology tests; conducts progressively more complex tests as departmental experience accumulates. Performs duties associated with tests, i.e. attaches electrodes, prepares graphs, performs calculations, monitors heart rate, etc. Greets and prepares patients for tests. Interacts with patients in a courteous manner; explains treatment purpose and equipment function and otherwise alleviates patient's anxiety. Reviews test results on a preliminary basis to determine need for immediate interpretation by physicians; delivers results to referring physician when necessary. Performs a variety of related duties such as changing linens, ordering supplies, filing and so on. Minimum Qualifications: Level of knowledge equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through completion of high school. College level training in physiology, anatomy, or biology.
