Organization General Description: 

Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA) are national Latino-led civic engagement organizations working year-round to strengthen democracy and empower our communities. 

MFA, a 501(c)(3), focuses on nonpartisan programs such as citizenship, voter registration, voter education, and leadership development on key issues, including immigration, education, healthcare, voting rights, workers’ rights, reproductive rights, and the environment. 

MFV, a 501(c)(4) organization, builds Latino political power through advocacy, organizing, and mobilization to ensure that Latino voices shape the policies that impact their health, safety, and prosperity. Together, we operate one of the largest Latino civic engagement infrastructures in the country, with programs across eight states (Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida) and Washington, D.C. 

General Job Description: 

The Citizenship Community Navigator will help connect immigrants and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPRs) with resources and information about the naturalization process. This role primarily involves supporting outreach efforts through tabling events, community information sessions, and workshops. The Navigator works collaboratively with other Community Navigators and staff to promote the Naturalize Now campaign and ensure community members receive guidance and resources in a friendly, accurate, and culturally sensitive manner. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

Represent the organization at four tabling events per month. 

Attend and support all monthly information sessions or citizenship workshops (alternating months). 

Share information about citizenship eligibility and resources, including application fee scholarships. 

Collect basic participation data during events to track community engagement. Maintain professional and positive relationships with participants and partner organizations. Follow up with community members when appropriate to ensure they have the support needed for citizenship applications. 

Assist staff with other community outreach efforts as needed. 

Performance Measures 

Number of participants engaged during tabling or events. 

Successful support and coordination of events and outreach activities.

Positive feedback from participants and partner organizations.

Qualifications


Qualifications

  • One (1) or more years of experience in community organizing.
  • Demonstrated experience building, nurturing, and maintaining diverse and effective alliances and partnerships.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and foster collaboration and trust in others in the high-pressure environment of a campaign.
  • Proven record of success in setting and achieving goals.
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to work independently.
  • Cultural competency and ability to communicate effectively with people representing diverse interests, styles, and backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and understanding of changes.
  • Can meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance required.
