THE ORGANIZATION: Mi Familia Vota (MFV) and Mi Familia en Acción (MFA) are national Latino-led civic engagement organizations working year-round to strengthen democracy and empower our communities.
MFA, a 501(c)(3), focuses on nonpartisan programs such as citizenship, voter registration, voter education, and leadership development on key issues, including immigration, education, healthcare, voting rights, workers’ rights, reproductive rights, and the environment.
MFV, a 501(c)(4) organization, builds Latino political power through advocacy, organizing, and mobilization to ensure that Latino voices shape the policies that impact their health, safety, and prosperity.
Together, we operate one of the largest Latino civic engagement infrastructures in the country, with programs across eight states (Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Colorado, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida) and Washington, D.C.
Position Overview: Canvas Leads will manage daily canvassing operations in Latino communities with teams, encourage Latinos to register to vote, and increase engagement in the Latino community. You will be expected to train and motivate your canvas team and provide proper reporting. Canvas Leads report to their state Civic Engagement Manager and/or Director.
Direct and supervise the canvas team during their daily responsibilities, as far as but not limited to:

Direct and supervise the canvas team during their daily responsibilities, as far as but not limited to:
- Engage community members and voters around voter registration, voter education, Vote by Mail, and Get Out To Vote.
- Manage the Canvassing team of 4-5 individuals
- Ensure the assigned canvassing team is informed of daily activities, turf, script, and reporting requirements
- Provide as-needed training and coaching for the canvassing team
- Encourages the canvassing team to meet and surpass daily goals
- Review canvassing reports and enter results into a database.
- Cutting turf for daily door-to-door or voter registration turf activities for their team
- Submitting nightly reports of voter registration cards collected, doors knocked, contacts, and commitment cards.
- Welcome the staffers and set up the office before staff arrival.
- Drive the canvassing team
- Debrief with individual canvassers daily.
- Organize literature, clipboards, and other materials for their canvassing team.
- Comply with the required reporting process and submit to their supervisor.
- Adhere to all state laws and regulations regarding voter registration and voter engagement efforts.
- Some campaign and/or field organizing experience.
- Experience using VAN and knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Legible handwriting.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle, preferred.
- Continually required to stand.

- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
