Bilingual Floater – Preschool Teacher Assistant

Job description:

Mi Casita is a Spanish immersion preschool where students are passionate about learning Spanish. Mi Casita is unique in that all classes are taught in Spanish with the goal of our students being fluent in Spanish when they graduate. Mi Casita serves children from the ages of 3 months to 5 years.

A Mi Casita preschool teacher: Plans and implements a project-based learning curriculum that promotes the social, physical, cultural, and intellectual growth of children. Responsible for the safety, care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, specialized programs, and redirection of children. Communicates directly with parents. Communicates exclusively in Spanish with children. Maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness.

A Mi Casita Bilingual Floater (Preschool Teacher Assistant): Assists the preschool teacher(s). This role is not assigned to a single classroom, instead the Floater is flexibly deployed across all classrooms in the school as needed, providing coverage, support, and continuity wherever the need arises on a given day. Must be comfortable moving between age groups and adapting quickly to different classroom routines, teachers, and children.

Requirements: Skills, Education / Knowledge, Experience

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE
· Bilingual required: must be fluent in both English and Spanish
· Degree in Early Childhood Education or related area highly desirable

EXPERIENCE
· 2 years of early childhood education or working with children desirable
· 1 years of experience working with assigned age group desirable

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Excellent organizational skills required
· Ability to be flexible in classroom assignment, age group, and work hours required (this role moves between rooms daily based on school needs)
· CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain desirable
