Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality. Position Details: Minimum Qualifications (LevelIV)Experienced/Complex/Routine Education:High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education. Licensure:Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience. Experience: Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience. Certifications:American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Preferred Education:Successful completion of a Postsecondary certificate or associate degree in Surgical Technology from an accredited surgical technology program. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help.
