Registered Nurse - Cath Lab -Monday to Friday - 8 hours shift

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards. Department: Cardiac Cath Lab Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 hours (day shift) Call Requirements: On call 12–15 days per month Includes approximately 2 weekends per month Required participation in STEMI and emergency call response (Callback timeframe of 30 mins) Position Details: Qualifications: Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements. Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift, including during procedures Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties Must be able to wear lead protection for extended periods Experience: Preferred: Cath lab, ICU, ED, or other critical care experience Consideration given to candidates with strong acute care experience and willingness to train Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required for Cath Lab role or completion within department timeframe One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: Why Mercy? Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
