The PSR ensures that the patient experience is positive and seamless by managing front desk operations and workflows. Position Details: Mercy Hospital St. Louis- Op Neurological Rehab 1176 Town and Country Commons Chesterfield, MO 63017 Shift: Monday, Wednesday 8:30 am-6:00 pm Tuesday/Thursday 7:30 am-5:00 pm Friday 8:00 am-12:00 pm We’re a Little Different Our mission is clear. Join us and discover why Modern Healthcare Magazine named us in its “Top 100 Places to Work.” Overview: • Greets patients and verifies their identity in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. • Performs general clerical duties: answers phones, Epic chart creation, processes mail as appropriate. Performs scanning, manages RightFax, makes copies. • Performs all necessary check-in, check-out, and appointment scheduling activities. • Balances and closes own cash drawer daily and keeps an accurate count of cash drawer amounts. • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and general maintenance of clinic’s equipment. This may include but not be limited to computer, scanner, credit card machine, copier/fax machine, calculator, and postage or fax machine. • Reviews departmental communications in a timely manner, participates in meetings and suggests improvements in work. • Supports and implements new changes in EPIC or workflows. • Provides for a safe and clean environment in reception area and waiting room following Infection Control Guidelines. • Adheres to Mercy safety regulations. Follows policy for completion of incident reports. • Follows confidentiality policy/procedure. • Maintains EHR and chart accuracy. • Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Medical Assistant: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience Certified Medical Assistant: Education: High School Diploma or GED. Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
