Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Patient Care Lead MA works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care in a systematic way. The Primary Care Patient Care Lead MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Certification(s): BLS (Basic Life Support)  Preferred Qualifications: Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program Experience: Caregiver has previous documented Medical Assistant experience of at least two years. Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:  Quality Performance Metrics Champion-anticipates patterns and links to issues and looks beyond immediate problem to the wider implications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with EHR systems and clinical documentation.  Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment. Knowledge of common outpatient procedures and equipment. Commitment to patient-centered care and professional growth. Demonstrates knowledge of varying differences and behaviors among populations served.    Work Environment:   Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction. Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.  Potential exposure to infectious materials; PPE provided.    Physical Requirements:  Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.  Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift. Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
