We are hiring for our Residential Team across two related positions—Architect and Sr Architectural Associate —for motivated individuals eager to build and advance their skills. Both roles work as integral members of the Naples Residential team, contributing to our standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES
- Architect: Licensure required; LEED accreditation preferred.
- Senior Architectural Associate: No licensure required; additional professional association encouraged.
EXPECTATIONS
- A professional degree in Architecture (Architect), or in Architecture, Design, or a related discipline (Senior Architectural Associate)
- Experience in all phases and aspects of a project deliverable
- Experienced with building codes, specifications, and building and engineering systems
- Advanced knowledge of project design and construction documentation production
- Highly skilled in Revit, CAD, SketchUp, Bluebeam, Microsoft, and Lumion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem-solving skills, organized attention to detail, and a willingness to mentor others • Collaborative and professional work ethic
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands and consistently executes all aspects of the design process and project complexities to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design
- Coordinates project documentation execution, construction plans, and details, ensuring quality control and completion on small and mid-scale projects in accordance with MHK standards and checklists • Responsible for technical BIM leadership, documentation coordination, and leading project team assignments; leads coordination with consultants and on constructability
- Develops creative and innovative design ideas, concepts, and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team
- Evaluates and integrates engineering systems and implements code, accessibility, life-safety, and zoning analyses
- Executes applicable agency review analysis (DRB, Site Plan Applications, etc.)
- Conducts and documents field observations to monitor progress of construction
- Implements a creative approach to completing tasks and responsibilities on projects within the scope of schedule and budget in an organized, timely, and consistent way
- Ability to serve as primary client contact upon request while effectively coordinating with team members, consultants, and contractors
- Analyzes product research and identifies material selections
- Takes an active role in crafting client and non-client design presentations and prepares corresponding materials
- Advanced understanding of planning, programming, and design principles and methods
- Understands and responds to the technical implications of design decisions
- Prepares reports and specifications; reviews completed reports, plans, cost estimates, and calculations • Performs construction administration duties (e.g., RFIs, submittals, change orders, etc.)
- Maintains developing awareness of evolving building technology and systems
- Takes increasing ownership of tasks within project teams and studio activities
- Empowers junior staff and their growth
- May manage and mentor staff as assigned
- Fosters an approachable environment with open communication within the team and with the designated team lead
