Here are the daily responsibilities of a Warehouse Quality Inspector:
- Responsible for the Certification of raw materials, parts, and components under Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulatory authority.
- Perform dimensional inspection with the use of mechanical inspection tools and gages of incoming raw materials, detail parts, kits, components, subassemblies, and major assemblies for visual damage in accordance with sampling plan.
- Ensure contents and documentation comply with purchase order, methods documents, and engineering specifications.
- Informs supervisor of and documents discrepancies and non-conformances.
- Coordinate resolution of discrepancies and non-conformances resolutions with Methods, Engineering, and/or Material Review board (MRB) as appropriate.
- Inspect outgoing parts, articles, materials, and documentation to the requirements of export shipping order and regulatory requirements (FAA/TCCA/EASA).
- Issue Authorized Release Certificates (ARC’s) of raw materials, parts, and components under Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulatory authority and MHIRJ Quality Manual.
- Track and maintain accurate shipping/receiving inventory and inspection results using multiple computerized ERP system/databases and manual filing systems.
- Interpretate and apply regulatory requirements (FAA/TCCA/EASA).
- Assists in cross training of new hires and trainees as needed.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED required, associate’s degree in applied science or similar technical program preferred.
- 2-5 years’ experience in shipping/receiving aerospace inspection.
- 2-5 years’ experience in aerospace-specific quality inspection.
- 1 year of experience working with Authorized Release Certificates (FAA 8130/TCCA Form One/EASA Form 1), industry standard parts and specifications, and an understanding of aviation regulatory requirements (FAA/TCCA/EASA).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.
- Ability to use and read measuring equipment, e.g., depth gauge, micrometers, calipers, bore gauge, etc.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS office programs, particularly Excel, Outlook and other MS office suite programs.
- Familiarity with SAP or other similar ERP systems (preferred).
- FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) or A (Airframe) license a plus.
- TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Category A, B1, B2 or C Aircraft maintenance Certification personnel or equivalent Military experience a plus.
- Knowledge of the CRJ aircraft fleet a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a variety of individuals and departments.
- Requires shift work and may be required to work some weekends.
