Responsibilities
- Manage lease or rental agreement processes, including tenant screening, onboarding, and renewals, utilizing property management tools such as Yardi or OneSite.
- Oversee property maintenance and facilities management to ensure the community remains attractive, safe, and fully operational.
- Handle client communication with professionalism via phone etiquette and in-person interactions, addressing resident concerns promptly and effectively.
- Enforce legal and fair housing regulations, including landlord-tenant law and LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) compliance, to uphold fair housing practices.
- Conduct regular property inspections, coordinate repairs, and oversee vendor relationships to maintain high standards of property upkeep.
- Utilize property management software to track leasing activities, rent payments, budgets, and resident records; maintain accurate filing systems.
- Lead conflict management efforts among residents or staff by applying negotiation skills and fostering a positive community atmosphere.
- Assist with budgeting tasks related to property expenses and revenue generation while supporting upselling opportunities for additional services or units.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in property management or real estate administrative roles; familiarity with property management tools such as Yardi or OneSite is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 programs, LIHTC compliance, and other legal frameworks governing residential communities.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone and in person; professional office experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability in team management, conflict resolution, negotiation, and client relationship management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with experience using property management software like Yardi or OneSite.
- Knowledge of property maintenance procedures and facilities management practices; familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) is a plus.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail; experience in leasing or sales is beneficial.
- Strong organizational skills including filing systems and documentation processes; experience with legal contracts and lease agreements is desirable.
