Post Coordinator

Job Description

The Post-Production Coordinator supports the operations of MGX Creative’s commercial client work as well as its film & television projects. The Coordinator reports to the Head of Post-Production and collaborates with them on executing a timeline and plan for each project. This includes lining up key personnel, communicating with vendors, media management on/off-set, quality checks, clearance logs and archiving/ retrieving delivered material.

Please note: this is a freelance, project-based role. LA-based location is a pre-requisite.

Responsibilities include:

• Scheduling: In tandem with the Head of Post, the post coordinator manages the post-production schedule, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and that the final product is delivered on schedule.
• Organization: The post coordinator ensures that all projects are organized and maintained appropriately via project management software, creating a high-level view for additional departments to easily track progress
• Communication: The post coordinator is a main point of contact between the production team and the post-production team, ensuring that everyone is aware of the project's progress and any issues that arise.
• Quality control: The post coordinator assists with ensuring that the final product meets the highest quality standards, including color grading, audio mixing, file naming conventions and is devoid of any errors.
• Project wrapping: The post coordinator is responsible for assisting with internal post requirements upon completion of a project. These include compiling a final list of credits, completing internal deliverables versions (textless, musicless, social cuts), ensuring all final post expenses and receipts are accounted for
• Archiving: The post coordinator is responsible for timely and meticulous backup of all finished projects to their respective storage spaces
• Social media: The post coordinator will assist with the creation and distribution of social media assets for MGX. This includes creating templated stories from recent projects and successes, posting on MGX social channels, updating the MGX website with recent deliverables and articles, and helping to create deck designs when needed.
• Internal Editing: When necessary, the post coordinator will provide Assistant Editor-level edit work on projects, including creating transcodes, syncing raws, setting up project files, creating selects, completing edits, and more.
• On-set work: The post coordinator will be responsible for media management as a Digital Image Technician (DIT) for all local on-set work
• Project calls: The post coordinator will participate on any/all daily project calls
• Emerging Technologies: The post coordinator will stay mindful of emerging technologies in post production, and will recommend improvements to our existing technologies as needed
