Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Commercial Glass and Glazing Project Manager to lead and oversee glass and glazing projects from inception to completion. This role requires a proactive leader with strong construction management skills, exceptional project coordination abilities, and extensive experience in commercial glazing systems. As a key driver of project success, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards while fostering excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Responsibilities
- Collects all pertinent documents including but not limited to: plans, drawings, and specifications
- Studies all documents and site conditions to determine project requirements
- Obtains material quotes and selects most appropriate offer for project
- Produces labor estimates for all phases of project proposals
- Builds anticipated timeline based on labor estimates and material delivery dates
- Works independently and with Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to execute turnover of contract glazing projects upon contract award
- Assists with completion or consults with Project Management on contract and job administration tasks to include but not limited to: generation and processing of submittals, material ordering and verification, project financials, manpower scheduling and forecasting, jobsite layout, coordination with General Contractors and other trades, review of plans and specifications for product application suitability
- Makes recommendations to design professionals and general contractors for product application
- Visits sites prior to bid for layout and measure for preparation of bids
- Assists with the generation of AIA type invoices
- Attends pre-bid meetings and coordinates with general contractors and related trades
- Other tasks as required for bid of contracts
- Advises on needed manpower levels appropriate to project load requirements
Skills
- Proven experience estimating commercial glass and glazing projects with a strong understanding of construction site operations.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, contracts management, and construction documentation.
- Familiarity with industry-standard software such as ProCore, Bluebeam Revu, Foundation, Acumatica, ComputerEaze; prior experience with estimating is essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively while managing time efficiently across various tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Solid understanding of construction safety protocols and site supervision practices.
- Technical knowledge of heavy glazing systems including curtain walls, storefronts, skylights; experience with commercial door hardware is highly valued.
