Construction Controller- New Braunfels (FT-In Office)

We're partnering with a well-established construction company seeking an experienced Construction Controller to lead the accounting function and provide financial oversight for multiple construction projects. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the unique complexities of construction accounting and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
This is a 100% in-office position. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
What You'll Do
- Oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end close
- Manage and analyze Work in Progress (WIP) schedules
- Prepare and review job cost reporting, project profitability, and financial statements
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion accounting
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions
- Partner with operations and project management to improve financial performance
- Maintain internal controls and support year-end audits
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of recent construction accounting experience
- Strong experience managing WIP (Work in Progress) reporting
- Hands-on Sage ERP experience is required
- Thorough understanding of job costing and construction financial reporting
- Experience leading accounting functions in a construction environment
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
