Company Overview
MGI, Inc. specializes in the installation of fire protection and life safety systems in federal facilities and is building a team. All projects will be prevailing wage, meaning electricians chosen for this team can expect to make more than the posted wages, in excess of $60/hr.
Summary
In this role you’ll install systems to NEC and VA standards, handle hospital-grade layouts, and collaborate with leadership to ensure code compliance and deadlines.
We’re looking for professionals with OSHA 30, NICET Level 2, and Edwards Systems Technology / EST 3 or 4 certifications. Simplex, Honeywell, or Siemens experience is a plus. Ideal candidates have 8-10 years in fire alarm installation and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Install conduit, wiring, panels, and devices per NEC and VA specifications
- Perform layout and rough-in for hospital-grade construction and remodels
- Install and maintain Life Safety Systems such as fire alarm, and backup power
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, federal codes, and life safety standards
- Collaborate with field leadership to meet project timelines and quality benchmarks
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean worksite
Requirements
- Ability to travel 100% of the time
- Valid journeyman license or equivalent experience preferred
- Minimum 8 years of commercial electrical and fire alarm installation experience
- Strong understanding of NFPA 72, NEC, OSHA standards, and jobsite safety
- Prior hospital or healthcare experience strongly preferred
- Familiarity with fire alarm systems, and life safety protocols
- Ability to work independently and as part of a crew
