Partners with Preconstruction, Project Management, and Field Management to manage the self-performed scopes of work during preconstruction, construction, and project closeout on construction projects. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Project Support) Preconstruction/Project Start-Up Collaborates with project management, field management, and estimating teams on budgets, scopes of work, schedule, suppliers, and staffing. Relationships/Communication/Meetings Builds and maintains strong relationships with project teams and field craft. Communicates regularly with all involved parties regarding project plans, status of the project, upcoming activities, and open issues. Participates in internal project meetings associated with self-perform work. Schedule Management Develops and maintains comprehensive schedule for manpower and self-perform scopes of work from the inception of the project by closely reviewing plans and specifications for required activities. Works with project teams to accurately reflect durations and sequence or logic. Budget Management Assists project team in setting up initial budgets for self-perform scopes of work and inputting into required project management and accounting systems. Assists project team to create budget forecasts by working with project teams to accurately reflect upcoming and or projected costs required to successfully complete the project on time. Leadership Leads teams in the self-perform process by training them on the specifics of the project, exposing them to the RFI, submittal, and budget processes and by giving them regular feedback and communication on their performance. Provides leadership at the project level by managing expectations for safety, quality, and productivity as it relates to Self-Perform scopes of work. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (Business Unit Support) Preconstruction Updates unit pricing to accurately estimate and bid self-perform scopes of work. Assists project team in tracking of self-perform cost history. Relationships/Communication/Meetings Builds and maintains strong relationships with Preconstruction Group, Field Management Group, and Project Management Group. Regularly, presents overall procedures and improvements of the Self-Perform process to assure alignment across the Business Unit. Participates in Self-Perform strategy meetings with Preconstruction Group, Field Management Group, and Project Management Group. Schedule Management Maintains an overall Self-Perform schedule to analyze and forecast labor resources to effectively support Self-Perform activities across the business unit. Risk Management Proactively manages risk by, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the Self-Perform volume across the business unit. Reduce risk by communicating anomalies in budgets and schedules with Preconstruction Group, Field Management Group, and Project Management Group. Close-Out Proactively initiates the close-out process prior to the completion of the project. Provides overall leadership and accountability for all close-out activities associated with the self-perform scopes of work. Updates cost history to ensure accurate unit tracking and future estimating efforts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated success leading multiple project teams, and/or large complex projects, with highest of quality. Demonstrated superior leadership skills that are recognized, respected, and followed by associates and management team. Proven business acumen in understanding whole company perspective. Proven success in coaching, mentoring, and leading teams. Demonstrated proficiency in project development strategies, resulting in revenue generation. Proficiency with MS Project, Bluebeam, SharePoint, pVault, and drawing management applications. Fundamental understanding of BIM applications, Procore, Workday, and Sage/Timberline. Demonstrated success in strategic thinking and leading company-wide initiatives. WORKING CONDITIONS The position requires work in an office environment.
