Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Transportation Engineer to join our dynamic design firm. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing transportation projects that improve public and private infrastructure. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, functional, and sustainable solutions that address our clients' transportation infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and design transportation systems, including roadways, highways, intersections, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
  • Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations with a focus on municipal local roads, township roads, and county highway improvements and state highway private entrances and state highway intersections shared with local jurisdictions.
  • Conduct traffic studies to inform project designs and recommendations.
  • Perform site visits and field investigations to collect data and assess existing infrastructure conditions.
  • Assist clients with compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Administer projects from conception through completion, including planning, budgeting, grants and loans, rate studies, design, and construction phase engineering services
  • Lead a design team to ensure project objectives and timelines are met.
  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and project proposals for internal and client review.
  • Participate in public meetings and presentations to communicate project plans and address stakeholder concerns.
  • Utilize AutoCAD-Civil 3D for design and analysis.
  • Engage and develop business with municipalities, private utilities, and industrial facility owners.
  • Assist project teams with the design of transportation elements of land development and industrial and commercial facilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, or ability to obtain within one year.
  • 2 years of experience in transportation engineering.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and standards related to transportation facilities.
  • Proficiency in transportation engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project administration skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of stormwater management facilities planning, design, and construction.

Career Path and Advancement

With experience, the water and wastewater engineer can advance to senior engineering, principal engineering, and leadership positions at MG2A.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90, $100,000.00 per year
