Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shop Cleaning Technician to maintain cleanliness and organization within our fabrication facility. This role is essential in supporting a safe, efficient, and professional working environment by ensuring daily cleaning tasks are completed consistently and thoroughly.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of the fabrication shop, including:
- Sweeping and mopping floors
- Removing debris and scrap materials
- Cleaning workstations and common areas not cleaned twice a week by an outside cleaning service.
- Maintain the cleanliness of:
- Restrooms
- Break areas
- Work stations
- Empty trash and recycling bins throughout the facility
- Clean and maintain shop equipment surfaces (non-technical cleaning only)
- Refill supplies such as paper towels, soap, and other consumables
- Assist with light facility upkeep tasks, including:
- Organizing storage areas
- Wiping down surfaces and fixtures
- Basic shop tidiness support
- Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Report any maintenance, safety, or cleanliness issues to management
Qualifications
- Prior cleaning or janitorial experience preferred (industrial or shop environment a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet for extended periods
Work Environment
- Active fabrication facility (may include noise, dust, and equipment operation)
- Requires standing, walking, bending, and light lifting throughout the shift
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time
- 9:00 am – 5:00 pm shift with some flexible scheduling available
- Competitive hourly wage of $26-$30 per hour based on experience
