MFS Consulting Engineers & Surveyor, DPC currently has an opening for an experienced Survey Crew Chief. Our offices are located in South Plainfield and Newfoundland, NJ. Our projects are located primarily throughout the NY/NJ Metropolitan area.
Job Summary
The Party Chief position is based in the Newfoundland, NJ office, and performs field surveys throughout the NY/NJ Metropolitan area and beyond. The Party Chief works solo and/or with an instrument operator. Experience with Leica data collection software is a plus, including running the data collector, along with downloading/uploading files in accordance with company procedures. Knowledge and ability to collect data in a manner acceptable for field to finish procedures is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Run and supervise a one or two man field crew.
- Prepare field notes, sketches and photos.
- Collect and code data for topographic, utility, structural monitoring, boundary, wetlands, other types of surveys.
- Utilize robotic total stations, optical/digital levels, and GPS.
- Perform daily downloads of data collector files & complete daily field logs.
- Adhere to company protocols for maintenance and upkeep of survey equipment and vehicles.
- Interface and report to MFS' Principal Land Surveyor or project managers as assigned to a project.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Survey Party Chief
- Experience with Leica robotic Total Stations, favorable
- Wide range of experience in topographic and boundary survey. .
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, favorable
- Laser Scanning experience, favorable
- Must possess a valid driver's and have a clean driving record
- Must be willing to travel within NJ and adjoining states
- Must complete a company background check
