Safety Manager – MFS Construction Job Description:The Safety Manager at MFS Construction is responsible for ensuring the highest safety standards in critical facilities construction projects. This role focuses on proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety excellence across all job sites. The Safety Manager works closely with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to mitigate hazards and ensure a safe working environment.Key Responsibilities:Safety Compliance & Program Development:Develop and enforce company-wide safety policies tailored to critical facilities construction.Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and industry-specific safety regulations for mission-critical environments.Maintain up-to-date safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.Job Site Safety & Hazard Control:Conduct daily site inspections and audits to identify potential risks in high-stakes environments.Implement safety measures for electrical, mechanical, and structural systems in critical facilities.Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, providing detailed reports and corrective action plans.Ensure the proper use of PPE, confined space protocols, fall protection, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.Training & Safety Culture Development:Develop and lead safety training programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.Train employees and subcontractors on hazard recognition, fire safety, and confined space entry.Promote a safety-first culture, ensuring all team members understand and prioritize workplace safety.Emergency Response & Risk Mitigation:Develop and implement emergency response plans for critical facility construction sites.Ensure fire suppression systems, first aid stations, and emergency equipment are available and functional.Collaborate with project teams to mitigate risks associated with high-voltage systems, HVAC, and data center infrastructure.Collaboration & Reporting:Work closely with project managers, site superintendents, and regulatory agencies to maintain safety compliance.Communicate safety performance, trends, and improvement strategies to leadership.Stay updated on evolving safety regulations and best practices for mission-critical construction environments.Qualifications:Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction safety management, preferably in critical facilities or commercial construction.Certifications: OSHA 30/OSHA 500 required; NFPA 70E, First Aid/CPR, and CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) certification preferred.Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA, NFPA, EPA regulations, LOTO procedures, and confined space safety.Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and risk assessment abilities.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
Salary : $90,000 - $120,000
