Job Overview
The Senior Technician supports the work of the Tech Room Manager and Systems Engineer performing system builds, reconfigurations and testing to meet business requirements. Customer satisfaction is important to the business and the Tech Room staff will work towards a highest level of customer service.
Responsibilities
- Build and configure servers, including unlocking and resetting equipment to factory defaults for redeployment
- Provided break/fix support and troubleshooting for network devices, servers, and computer hardware, heavy switchand storage unit configuration and troubleshooting
- Support Windows Server environments and perform server reconfiguration and maintenance tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with network switches, routers, and related infrastructure
- Provide desktop support for hardware and software issues
- Perform network setup, device support, and low-voltage cabling for equipment installations/data wiping.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate service notes for each assignment
- Work as a team with the other members of the Tech Room staff, assisting each other to attain a timely completion of all builds and projects.
- Help in any aspects/departments that may require additional support to complete a task/job.
- Performs special projects, as necessary, to support the Tech Room Manager, Warehouse Manager or any member of the management team.
Experience
- Experience with Lenovo and IBM technology
- Ability to think analytically to solve problems
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge of Network Security and Protocols, Cloud and Virtualization platforms, and a variety of hardware and software
- Knowledge of network topologies and architecture is essential
- Ability to transition quickly and adapt to the current environment
- Microsoft Office and Excel, data entry experience
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
