Under general supervision, supervise the Accounts Receivable Insurance files to insure collection of outstanding accounts. Work with the billing and collection departments to ensure accuracy. Assist in budget preparation and annual costs report fillings, annual property tax exemption certificate and 571L unsecured business property statements fillings.

  • Review E H R System weekly for posting of insurance payments
  • Enter insurance billing into Accufund as completed from the billing clerk.
  • Reconcile payments to billing and provide adjustments to Senior Accountant.
  • Provide any bad debt accounts to the CFO for review before giving it to the Senior Accountant to write off.
  • Assist with the monthly county billing as needed.
  • Assist or file as necessary the county cost report.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual budget.
  • Assist with filing property exemption certificates.
  • Assist in filing unsecured annual business property tax statements.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • A Certificate or Associate’s Degree in business (preferably bookkeeping or accounting);
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Bookkeeping capacity, and a good understanding of debits and credits.
  • Basic methods, practices, and terminology of fiscal recordkeeping;
  • Basic business mathematics; checks, money orders and other common negotiable instruments and their proper validation and endorsement;
  • Common methods of balancing cash and checks against records of receipt;
  • Methods of handling, recording and controlling monies received and disbursed;
  • Basic mathematical/fiscal computer applications;
  • Basic payroll practices and procedures;
  • Accounting systems, procedures, regulations and source documents including expenditure, revenue, general ledger and related accounting procedures and the interrelationship of internal and external recordkeeping systems;
  • General bookkeeping, accounting and audit methodology, terminology and standards.

  • Identify actual or potential problems or issues pertaining to behavioral health programs or services, address such problems, and develop or assist in developing effective resolutions;
  • Exercise appropriate judgment when making decisions and/or following recommendations, including how decisions or recommendations could have adverse effects;
  • Exercise appropriate judgment when dealing with information which may be confidential or sensitive in nature;
  • Exercise initiative, judgment, prioritization, multitasking, problem solving, decision- making with quality results;
  • Read, understand, interpret, apply, and explain documents, requirements, policies and procedures;
  • Effectively organize and prioritize assignments, projects, and workload to meet deadlines that have strict timelines;
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing;
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with Supervisors, Coworkers and Members.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records;
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
  • Work independently;
  • Maintain confidentiality;
  • Maintain professional appearance at all times;
  • Maintain appropriate and timely communication with family, significant others, and referral sources conveying a positive professional image;
  • Implement, and interpret policies and procedures and effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance
  • Department of Justice fingerprint clearance
  • Negative tuberculosis test
  • Pass drug screening test

LICENSES:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Government Issued Identification at all times.

  • Ability to see, read and distinguish colors, with or without vision aids on computer screens equipment used in the work environment, instructional materials, training materials, written directions, rules, policies, calendars, agenda, manuals and other printed matter
  • Physical strength and agility to push, pull, squat, twist, turn, and lift and carry bulky objects of up to 10 pounds

DRESS CODE:

  • Business Casual Attire-all clothing must be clean and free of holes. Acceptable attire: collar shirts, blouses, trousers/slacks, skirts/dresses that are an appropriate length. No tank tops, strapless, thinly strapped tops, shorts or dresses that are not an appropriate length, clothing that shows bare midriffs or cleavage are not permitted during work hours.
  • No ripped jeans or athletic wear including yoga pants.
  • Closed toed shoes, Tennis Shoes, and Ankle Strapped Sandals are acceptable. No flip flops.
  • No Jewelry that could pose a hazard. Visible jewelry that can be seen through or under clothing and facial jewelry are not permitted during work hours.
  • Clothes must be clean and professional and avoiding anything that could make others uncomfortable such or profanity or clothing that is too revealing.
  • Poor personal hygiene is not acceptable. Perfume, cologne and after shave should be used moderately
  • Visible tattoos that are offensive must be covered up during work hours
