The goal of the Jr. Accountant is to maintain our company’s financial health and make sure our accounting operations run smoothly.
Responsibilities
AR/AP:
- Organize and record payable invoices, ensuring both pricing and data accuracy.
- Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Responsible for completing daily bank deposits and recording payments in accounting system
- Generate/send out monthly customer statements
- Identify outstanding accounts for overdue payments and collect on all past due accounts.
- Ability to compile detailed notes regarding collections as well as research any discrepancies
- Assist with monthly AIA (construction) billing as well as intercompany billings over the course of the month
- Build and maintain relationships with both vendors and customers to ensure timely payment/receipt of invoices.
- Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.
- Secures financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintains financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Responsible for processing/recording credit card transactions and overseeing monthly reconciliation.
Analyzing and maintaining ledger accounts.
Assisting in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
Completing tax forms.
Assisting with audits.
Participating in budgeting processes.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies, regulations, and laws.
Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
Assist controller in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
Assist with other accounting projects.
Qualifications
- BS or associate’s degree in accounting, Finance or relevant field
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
- Proficiency with accounting software, as well as Microsoft Excel, to manage and analyze financial data.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Strong mathematical skills for precise calculation and analysis of financial information.
- Problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies in financial data and rectify errors.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage a multitude of invoices, data, and documents efficiently and orderly.
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
