We are looking for a driven Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) Coordinator who is willing to innovate, create, learn, and grow with us.
The Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) Coordinator is a corporate role responsible for maintaining environmental and product/customer compliance, as well as administering corporate safety and sustainability programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Environmental- Ensure compliance and documentation for areas including but not limited to waste management (hazardous/nonhazardous waste, wastewater, solid waste, etc.), air emissions, municipality permits, etc.
Safety- Partner with Human Resources to update and maintain safety policies, support corporate safety initiatives, provide guidance and support to safety committee leadership, lead monthly safety walks process, maintain safety/first aid supplies, provide AWAIR/safety training, etc.
Sustainability- Lead sustainability programs and manage data collection and reporting for 3rd party and customer schemes (SGP, Ecovadis, The Climate Pledge, Microsoft, Carbon Disclosure Project, etc.). Work with purchasing to enhance increased sustainability product offerings
Product/Customer Compliance- Ensure client requirements are met for areas including but not limited to product safety testing, AIB certifications, social accountability, hazardous substance control (i.e. REACH, RoHS, Proposition 65), etc.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Has the ability to work with teams and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
- Self starter capable of prioritizing their work to hit deadlines
- Working knowledge of current local, state, and federal environmental regulations
- Working knowledge of OSHA requirements
- Experience training workforce on topics such as lockout-tagout, right-to-know, and other safety programs
- This is an individual contributor role with indirect authority. As such, this role requires comfort and confidence with getting work done through others who do not report to them
- High attention to detail
SOME REQUIRED KEY MUST HAVES ARE:
- 2 year ASSOCIATES DEGREE with a science based focus OR additional 2 years equivalent experience (4 years total minimum requirement without education requirement)
- 2 years experience in an EHS focused capacity
- Experience in preparing for and submitting industrial environmental compliance permits (air permit, hazardous waste permit, etc.)
- Have a demonstrated passion for sustainability
- Must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant as walking and standing is required occasionally to carryout job duties
- Position is subject to production noise, dust, odors, etc.
