Key Responsibilities
Maintain the landscape design and functionality of properties, ensuring they reflect the high standards of Meyers Nursery.
Perform routine groundskeeping duties including mowing, trimming, and planting to enhance outdoor aesthetics.
Care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants, ensuring they remain healthy and vibrant.
Operate and maintain gardening equipment and tools, ensuring proper safety protocols are followed.
Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as necessary while adhering to environmental safety standards.
Monitor plant health and address any pests or diseases efficiently.
Assist in landscape construction and design projects as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and to customer satisfaction.
Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Basic landscaping knowledge and experience preferred.
Ability to operate gardening tools and machinery safely and effectively.
Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor outdoors.
Strong attention to detail and a passion for landscape maintenance.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Desired Experience
Previous experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping is desirable.
Familiarity with plants and their care, especially in eastern Iowa climate.
Proven ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision.
