Principle Duties and Responsibilities
•Technical Assembly: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to verify material requirements and any required protection of critical parts.
•Precision Manufacturing: Assemble gas manifolds, burners, and electrical wiring harnesses for luxury indoor ranges and outdoor grills with high attention to detail.
•Safety & Organization: Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and health regulations, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and follow the 5S program to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
•Quality Control: Conduct functional testing of components, including gas leak detection and electrical continuity checks, to ensure 100% compliance with quality standards.
•Cosmetic Integrity: Ensure all stainless steel and finished surfaces are protected during the assembly process to maintain the "luxury" aesthetic expected by Hestan customers.
•Documentation: Maintain accurate production records, including part counts, scrap rates, and completed job forms.
•Collaboration: Work with Sr. Assembly Technicians, Leads, or Supervisors to complete orders in a timely manner
•Collaboration: Train new technicians (Assistant Assembly Technicians) in the Hestan operations.
•Continuous Improvement: Perform other duties and special projects assigned in support of operations and other departments as required to meet the company’s overall objectives
Experience, Education & Skills
•High school diploma or GED equivalent, and/or 1-2 years of experience with use of hand, power, and pneumatic tools in a manufacturing or production facility preferably within the appliance or industrial equipment manufacturing sectors
•Intermediate to advanced proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and work orders to verify material requirements and any required protection of critical parts.
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively and the ability to interface professionally with Hestan employees across all levels.
•Must possess the mental and physical capacities necessary to perform the job duties, including the ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive movements, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs.
•A highly self-motivated, dependable, and flexible team player with a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and close attention to detail.
Decision Authority:
The Assembly Technician at HCC is Empowered to maintain quality, but without overstepping into Decision authority reserved for engineering or management
•Stop-Work Authority: Authorized to halt the assembly process immediately upon discovery of a safety violation or a quality defect that compromises the luxury standard of the product.
•Quality Validation: Empowered to reject non-conforming materials or parts and initiate the "Red Tag" / non-conforming material process.
•Workstation Management: Authority to maintain and organize the individual workspace in alignment with 5S and HCC safety standards.
•Training Oversight: Authority to provide guidance and corrective instruction to Assistant Technicians to ensure adherence to HCC production standards.
Measured by: (Key Performance Indicators
Safety & 5S: Maintains a Zero-Incident record within the assigned workstations
Quality: Achieves 100% First Pass Yield (FPY) on all gas leak tests, electrical continuity checks and aesthetic audits
Delivery: Completes 100% of assigned work orders according to the standard work, ensuring adherence to the daily production schedule.
Inventory: Ensures all high-value luxury components (burners, knobs, manifolds) are handled and stored to prevent stockouts that could halt production.
Productivity: Meets or exceeds Standard Labor Hours established for each specific grill or range model.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed primarily in the manufacturing facility, although outdoor tasks are sometimes required. Lighting is artificial and adequate. Equipment used may include the use of telephones, power tools, hand tools, plumbing tools, and power-driven lift trucks. Individuals will have constant exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, fumes and chemicals. Physical demands include standing, walking, bending over, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead, kneeling, crouching, balancing, pushing and pulling, repetitive use of both hands, grasping, fine dexterity, being around other work equipment and machinery, driving cars, trucks, forklifts, walking on uneven ground, as well as lifting up to 50 lbs. Both workdays, as well as hours of work, may vary, according to the requirements of the operation
