Maintenance Lead (Night Shift)

Meyer Utility Structures (MUS) is searching for a Plant Welding Technician. In this role, you will provide the Lancaster, SC utility pole manufacturing plant with welding and technical support such as welding process troubleshooting, welding process improvement, and procedure and code conformance. The Plant Welding Technician will have strong hands-on welding skills, visual weld inspection experience, and experience using welding procedure specifications.

As a Lead Maintenance Technician, you’ll help us keep our manufacturing equipment running correctly and efficiently by leading a team of experienced maintenance technicians.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead a team of maintenance technicians in ensuring all scheduled preventative maintenance and unscheduled work orders are completed correctly and efficiently
• Teach, train, coach and lead our maintenance technicians in the achievement of all required tasks
• Help determine causes of and solutions for operating problems in manufacturing machinery, electrical systems/components, plumbing systems, HVAC, carpentry, electrical fixtures/switches/power sources, and mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  Use blueprints, schematics, small/power tools, and electronic test equipment to perform a variety of maintenance tasks.
• Lay out, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production electronic components, parts, switch panels, electronic equipment, and systems
• Wiring and programming of electronics and control boxes with PLC and CNC programming
• Make electronic, mechanical, or electrical repairs on all computer-controlled equipment
• May be required to perform Equipment Technician work as needed
• Follow all safety rules and practices
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives

What You’ll Need:

• Successful supervisory maintenance experience in a manufacturing or related environment
• A safety-first, proactive approach to equipment and facility maintenance
• A high level of understanding and experience diagnosing and correcting issues with of PLC, CNC or VFD programming
• Ability to read and troubleshoot PLC programming
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• A general knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems/components, HVAC, carpentry, welding machinery, overhead cranes, and handheld power tools
• Experience operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and telescoping boom lifts
• The ability to maintain reliable and predictable good attendance
• A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal
