Maintenance/ Grounds Technician Residence Inn Amelia Island

Essential Functions:

• Attendance as scheduled is required.
• Adhere to all Marriott and Meyer Jabara Hotel policies and procedures.
• Maintain all major equipment and systems in the Hotel.
• Administer all preventative maintenance programs.
• Insure guest satisfaction to the best of your ability.
• Support the Quality Improvement Process.
• Follow and teach safe working practices.
• Maintain all major electrical and mechanical equipment, especially the

HVAC and refrigeration units.

• Maintain the files and logs kept in the Engineering department.
• Have a working knowledge of all Marriott and Meyer Jabara Hotel standard operating

procedures.

• Coordinate with all departments on support required from the engineering department daily.
• Actively participate in the Journey culture.
• Correct or report any potentially unsafe situation to the Facilities Manager
• Always maintain a positive attitude towards guests and employees.

Experience:

• A minimum of two years of college or equivalent in mechanical, electrical and

technical disciplines.

• Knowledge in HVAC Refrigeration is a plus
• Minimum of two years hotel maintenance preferred.

Skills:

• Qualified in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
• Self-starting, even tempered personality with the ability to get along with others and function under pressure.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Required to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to satisfy guest needs.
• Must be able to meet standards of appearance.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Job Requirements:

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required to inspect and repair
• Frequent bending and kneeling required to inspect and repair
• 100% mobility required to quickly reach all areas of hotel in emergency situations
• Frequent standing and climbing of stairs and ladders
