Meyer Foods Management is seeking a bright, flexible Staff Accountant with a strong foundation in construction accounting. You will be instrumental in supporting full-cycle accounting activities, with a focus on construction projects and building company assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and transaction processing.
- Oversee internal and external AP/AR functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of payments and collections.
- Handle construction in progress (CIP) accounting and construction revenue recognition under accrual accounting principles.
- Support the development and tracking of construction assets and ensure proper capitalization.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end account reconciliations and close processes.
- Maintain detailed general ledger entries and transaction-level accuracy.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to resolve accounting issues.
- Assist with audits, financial reporting, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with exposure to construction accounting preferred.
- Solid understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP principles.
- Experience with construction in progress (CIP) and construction revenue accounting.
- Proficiency in general ledger management and full-cycle accounting.
- Strong technical skills, with experience in accounting software and Excel.
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable handling both transactional volume and technical accounting tasks.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
