Responsibilities
- Manage general ledger accounting and perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy across all financial records.
- Conduct detailed cost analysis, inventory management and cost accounting activities to optimize operational efficiency.
- Prepare and interpret financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, adhering to GAAP standards.
- Utilize QuickBooks for data entry, transaction processing, and reporting.
- Perform accounts payable and receivable functions with precision, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Monitor grain inventory and hedge positions while auditing grain purchase and sales contracts for compliance.
- Manage customer grain contracts and settlement payments for grain and ensure compliance with company policy and state and federal regulations.
- Perform necessary Month-End and Year-End Closing functions and reporting including bank reconciliations for lenders and auditors.
- Conduct cash flow analysis to monitor liquidity and inform financial decision-making.
- Oversee Payroll Administration, Employee Benefit Administration as well as Insurance Administration.
- Assist with compliance procedures and internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial report writing and business intelligence initiatives for enhanced decision-making.
- Proven accounting experience within the manufacturing industry or similar sector with a focus on cost management and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and technical accounting concepts.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks is essential.
- Demonstrated ability in spreadsheet management and Excel data analysis for complex financial modeling.
- Experience with financial report interpretation, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, and general ledger management.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and internal control processes is highly desirable.
- Serve as primary contact with Banks, CPA Firm, Insurance Providers, Vendors and Government agencies.
- Excellent data analysis skills coupled with a keen eye for detail to support accurate financial reporting.
