Assistant Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
• Supervise and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service and uphold food safety standards
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling processes to ensure quality and consistency
• Utilize POS systems such as Toast for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation
• Implement waste reduction strategies
• Train new team members on customer service protocols and safety procedures
• Monitor shift performance and ensure efficient workflow during busy hours
• Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and manage food safety audits effectively

Skills

• Must be proficient in both English and Spanish to communicate effectively with staff and customers
• Proven experience in quick service restaurant management
• Demonstrated ability to supervise teams, and manage hospitality teams effectively
• Strong understanding of inventory control, food safety management, and food handling procedures
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve issues promptly and professionally
• Skilled in shift management, kitchen management, and overseeing food preparation processes
• Ability to lead with energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Previous assistant manager experience within casual dining or fine dining establishments preferred; banquet or catering experience is a plus
• Knowledge of hospitality management principles including team leadership, training & development, and managing hospitality teams
