POSITION TITLE: Long-Term Substitute Elementary Teacher
CURRENT ASSIGNMENT: Palermo Elementary School (First Grade)
CERTIFICATION: Valid NYS Certification
START DATE: September 2026
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid NYS Certification: Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grade 1-6) or equivalent
- Strong commitment to children
- Ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Knowledge of New York State Learning Standards and understanding of effective classroom instruction
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable
- Primary (K-2) experience preferred
- Prior experience covering long-term teaching assignments preferred
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Full-time, temporary appointment
- Salary and benefits as per MACSFA contract
- Assignment expected through April 2027
