Overview
The Mews Tavern is seeking an experienced and personable Bartender to join our dynamic hospitality team in our upstairs Pub Bar. Shifts range from early afternoon into the late evening on busy nights. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service in a lively environment, with experience in nightclubs, or banquet settings. This role requires strong multitasking skills, familiarity with POS systems such as POSI-touch, and a solid understanding of food safety and responsible alcohol service. As a key member of our team, you will craft beverages, serve guests, and contribute to an engaging atmosphere that keeps patrons returning.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently using POS systems like POSI-touch
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to enhance their overall experience
- Manage multiple orders simultaneously during busy hours while maintaining high-quality service
- Ensure all drinks are prepared according to company standards and presentation guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering duties
- Restock bar supplies as needed and monitor inventory levels
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies, including checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during events such as banquets or catering functions
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations related to food handling and beverage service
Requirements
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant, nightclub, or banquet environments preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems such as POSI-touch is highly desirable
- Strong time management skills to handle fast-paced service periods effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests professionally
- Knowledge of food safety standards and responsible alcohol service practices
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and measuring ingredients accurately
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights; experience in hospitality or brewing is advantageous
- Must be TIPS certified
- Previous experience serving at events like banquets or catering is beneficial
- Must be 21 years or older (if applicable based on local laws)
