What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Assistant position at Metzler Forest Products, LLC?
This position is responsible to ensure trucks, trailers, equipment, and vehicles are kept clean by using a pressure washer and by hand washing, if necessary. Ensures daily cleanliness of shop area and wash bay. Is responsible for light office maintenance and keeping the front of building neat and tidy.
- Comfortably operate equipment, truck and trailers in and around the wash bay and parking areas.
- Use of pressure washer and ability to hand wash trucks and equipment when necessary.
- Conduct basic maintenance in the shop including, changing tires, greasing machines, and changing oil in pick-ups.
- Maintains the cleanliness of outside office building and does facility maintenance as needed.
- Maintain safe and organized work area.
- Exercise proper care and maintenance of company equipment.
- Runs errands for mechanics.
Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Must have solid organizational and time management skills.
- Possess valid and current driver’s license.
Experience driving vehicles, equipment, truck and trailers (including automatic and manual).
