Metz Lewis Brodman Must O’Keefe LLC is seeking an associate attorney to join our thriving and growing Trusts & Estates practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to work closely with experienced practitioners on sophisticated estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax-sensitive planning, and related matters for individuals, families, fiduciaries, business owners, and closely held enterprises.
Responsibilities
The associate attorney will:
• Draft estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and related instruments.
• Assist with trust and estate administration, including probate filings, fiduciary accountings, asset transfers, beneficiary communications, and coordination with accountants, financial advisors, and other professionals.
• Research federal and state tax, fiduciary, probate, and estate planning issues.
• Support attorneys in complex planning matters involving wealth transfer strategies, business succession planning, charitable planning, and trust modification or interpretation issues.
• Communicate with clients, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, courts, and outside advisors in a professional and thoughtful manner.
• Manage deadlines, maintain organized files, and contribute to the efficient delivery of high-quality legal services.
Qualifications
Candidates should have:
• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar, or eligibility for admission.
• Approximately 1–5 years of relevant experience preferred, though candidates with strong interest and related experience will be considered.
• Experience with estate planning, trust and estate administration, tax, probate, or fiduciary matters preferred.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning a plus, but not required.
• Excellent drafting, research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• A client-focused approach and interest in building a long-term practice in trusts and estates.
