What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialty Endodontic Dental Assistant position at MetroWest Endodontic Specialist?
Full job description
We're a small, growing endodontic practice, and we're looking for an experienced endodontic assistant to step into a lead role and anchor our clinical days from day one.
MetroWest Endodontic Specialists is a modern, single-specialty endodontic practice in Hopkinton, built around two things: exceptional patient comfort and exceptional support for the dentists who refer to us. We treat with surgical microscopes and CBCT-guided precision, offer same-day emergency access, and report back to referring offices the same day. Patients are never left to navigate anything alone — every interaction is warm, attentive, and intentional.
The role
You'll be the doctor's right hand and the operational anchor of every clinical day — running the floor, keeping the schedule moving, and setting the standard for how we care for patients. Because we're a small team, we need someone who already knows endodontic assisting cold and can lead without a ramp-up. There's real room to grow, too: as we expand our clinical week, there's a clear path to cross-train into office operations and broaden your scope.
What you'll do
- Lead chairside assisting during endodontic procedures, including microscope- and CBCT-guided treatment
- Set the pace for operatory turnover, sterilization, and instrument processing
- Capture and process digital radiographs and CBCT imaging
- Manage inventory and ordering, and keep clinical systems running smoothly
- Guide patients through their visit with warmth and clear communication, comfort always front and center
- Anchor same-day emergency cases and same-day report-backs to referring offices
- Help onboard and mentor newer assistants, and grow into broader operational responsibilities over time
Required qualifications
- Hands-on endodontic assisting experience — comfortable leading chairside in a specialty setting
- Substantial chairside experience as a dental assistant
- Dental assistant certification
- Radiology licensure (or equivalent eligibility)
- Confident with surgical microscopes, CBCT, and digital imaging
- Calm, organized, and precise under a busy clinical pace
- A natural with patients — reassuring, attentive, and genuinely kind
- Motivated to take ownership and lead in a small-team environment
Preferred qualifications
- Prior lead, senior, or mentoring experience in a clinical setting
