Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Project Planning & Coordination:
- Review and process work plans in advanced; coordinate tools, equipment, and materials to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
- Work with Project Managers and other departments to ensure installations are completed on schedule and within budget
- Manage daily worksite activities and scheduling impacts to ensure continuous progress
- Help mentor low voltage technician, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to team members as needed
- Perform regular on-site inspections to confirm all work meets company standards, project specifications, and customer expectations
- Install low voltage systems in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Ensure all installation work complies with local building codes, safety guidelines, and internal quality standards
- Maintain knowledge of cable color codes, cable types, industry best practices, and cable testing procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and accurately during installation or service calls
- Perform necessary repairs and adjustments to ensure full functionality of systems
- Complete post-installation documentation and coordinate with supervisors for final inspections
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by delivering professional service and clear communication throughout project execution
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and an organized inventory of tools, materials, and equipment
- Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task.
- Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention.
- Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company. Support goal of achieving zero accidents.
- Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed.
- Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
- 5 years of experience in Fire Alarm systems installation, with experience supervising a team of installers
- Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm and related systems
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to Fire Alarm systems installation
- NICET Certification required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Positive safety attitude and personal integrity -- both are non-negotiable
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems with low voltage systems
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of workers
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Working in indoor & outdoor conditions
- Work is performed while standing, sitting and /or walking, & climbing up & down ladders
- Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, kneeling, balancing
- Climbing ladders of various heights and working in cramped corridors
- Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases
- Specific vision abilities required for this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus
