What are the responsibilities and job description for the YMCA Afterschool Childcare Provider position at Metropolitan YMCAs of MS?
The Metropolitan YMCAs of MS is seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our after-school childcare program as Childcare Counselors. In this role, you’ll supervise children, lead fun and meaningful activities, and help create a safe and inclusive environment that supports youth development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Implement curriculum and support academic enrichment
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Ensure safety, inclusion, and compliance with licensing standards
- Maintain program spaces and complete required documentation
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Experience working with children preferred
- Reliable, responsible, and energetic
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to lead activities and manage groups of children
Schedule
- Part-time, weekday afternoons
