We are seeking a detail-oriented Escrow Accountant to join our growing team at a respected mid-sized title company in Indiana. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the accurate management and reconciliation of escrow and trust accounts, ensuring compliance with ALTA Best Practices, state regulations, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily reconciliations of escrow and trust accounts, including deposits, disbursements, and wires
- Ensure compliance with Indiana Department of Insurance (IDOI) regulations and ALTA Best Practices
- Maintain and balance escrow ledgers for multiple transactions and accounts
- Research and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding balances
- Assist with preparation and documentation for internal reviews and external audits
- Process and monitor escrow disbursements, including checks and wires, ensuring timely and accurate handling
- Track and report on unclaimed funds and stale-dated checks in accordance with legal requirements
- Collaborate closely with title officers, escrow teams, and the Controller to ensure smooth closing and funding processes
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities related to escrow accounting
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 2 years of escrow/trust accounting experience, preferably in a title company or real estate environment
- Solid understanding of escrow processes, fiduciary accounting, and state compliance requirements
- Proficient with escrow and accounting software
- Strong Excel skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines, work independently, and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
