Position Summary:
The Non-Public Schools Liaison serves as the Public Agency Representative for all special education case conferences for students attending non-public schools within the district’s jurisdiction. This role is responsible for overseeing evaluation requests, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, coordinating with non-public school leaders, and managing related documentation and financial records.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Public Agency Representative at all special education case conferences for students attending non-public schools.
- Review and respond to requests for special education evaluations; assign appropriate evaluations to the school psychologist or issue a written notice of refusal to evaluate, as appropriate.
- Maintain collaborative relationships with non-public school administrators and leaders.
- Offer quarterly consultation sessions with non-public school leaders regarding special education services and supports.
- Maintain accurate records of consultations, evaluations, and case conferences.
- Participate in the federally required annual consultation with non-public school officials.
- Review and monitor financial records related to special education expenditures for non-public schools; ensure compliance with federal spending requirements.
- Maintain caseload records and support the Director of Special Services in determining spending projections for the Business Office to ensure obligations are met.
- Collaborate with non-public schools to identify allowable expenditures for any funds exceeding staffing costs.
- Work closely with Office of Special Services staff to add students to the Skyward system and ensure accurate IEP documentation and compliance.
Work Schedule:
- Flexible schedule, averaging 15 hours per week, with some fluctuation between 10 and 25 hours depending on case conference load and project deadlines.
