Certified Medical Assistant (2+ Year in women's health Exp Required)

Metropolitan Ob/Gyn, PA is searching for a full-time experienced Certified Medical Assistant to assist with Front Desk Reception.

Detailed responsibilities:

• Taking Vital Signs, room changeover, assisting the provider with procedures such as endometrial biopsy, colposcopy, IUD insertion, vulva biopsy, I&D, instrument sterilization, answering the telephones, contacting patients with abnormal lab results and pre-certifications, insurance verification, calling patients with lab results as needed.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and disinfection according to protocol, and troubleshooting. Maintains examination areas.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, including phlebotomy, and procedural tray/room set-up.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patient care. Provides discharge instructions and follows up with the patient as needed. Recognizes and seeks help in emergent situations.
• Manages and facilitates messages and patient phone calls.
• Reviews patient charts to ensure imaging is available and all pertinent information is available to maximize the appointment.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including scanning, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.

Requirements:

• Prior Medical Assistant experience (OB/GYN )
• Must understand OB scheduling types and patient flow
• Ability to multitask under pressure without errors
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Work 36-40 hours per week.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency
