Mechanical Designer/Draftsman

Metropolitan Industries, Inc. is a multiple market sales and service organization in the water & wastewater markets both locally and on a national basis. We are a 70-year-old company located in Romeoville, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. We provide technical sales expertise, engineering, and end-user service to municipal and commercial customers in Illinois and expanded customer base across the country. We are currently looking for an entry level Mechanical Draftsman.

Description

• Ability to visualize 3D objects including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks, work with a deadline
• Capable of creating computer-aided design by taking project information and interpreting it into a submittal or fabrication drawings
• Collaborate and establish a good working relationship with multiple departments to deliver the highest quality designs
• Provide technical support for field technicians
• Eagerness for continued on-the-job learning about the products and systems, and miscellaneous related tasks that a small company requires.
  
  

Required

• SolidWorks
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
• AutoCAD
• Willingness to work hard with a good attitude
• Ability to work with many other people and manage multiple projects at one time
• Technical / Mechanical Aptitude
• Attention to detail is a must
• Good communication skills
  
  

Optional

• Electrical and HVAC experience including schematics
• Excel Spread sheet design development
• SolidWorks Routing and PDM experience a plus
• Experience in Revit
