The Human Resources Analyst - Pension position is in the Human Resources Department. The position performs benefits and pension calculations for active Metro employees. This position also works in conjunction with other benefits areas answering inquiries based on established policy, procedure, and practice.

Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078, all employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.

Typical Duties
- Responsible for understanding Metro's benefit system – knowing the benefits that Metro offers and requirements to participate in Metro's benefit system.
- Calculating disability, service, and early service pensions.
- Handling connections of service and terminated vested calculations.
- Entering data into the Oracle system.
- Handling intake calls from individuals wanting to apply for pension.
- Assisting with pension enrollment/training meetings if needed.
- Assisting in handling death benefit claims - both pension and life insurance.
- Applying connection of service for breaks in Metro employment history.
- Answering plan-related questions via telephone, email, and/or written correspondence from employees, retirees department representatives.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

- Experience is defined as finance, human resources or pension related.* (ratio 1:1)
