Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks in a busy medical environment. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in various medical office systems.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage multi-line phone systems, responding to inquiries and directing calls appropriately.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic calendar efficiently.
- Perform insurance verification and assist with patient intake processes.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar for patient management.
- Process medical billing and coding using CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 standards.
- Assist with care plans and documentation review as needed.
- Handle clerical tasks including filing, typing, and maintaining office organization.
- Provide support for medical administrative functions to ensure smooth operations within the clinic.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Front Desk Receptionist in a healthcare setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD coding, CPT coding) is essential.
- Experience with EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth is highly desirable.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to enhance patient communication.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are required.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills are necessary for effective patient interaction.
