We are seeking a full-time culinary educator to join our team at MCAI, a private, post-secondary culinary arts school. The ideal candidate has a experience as a culinary educator and chef - he/she must be passionate about teaching professional culinary skills following our program. All classes are conducted in person.
MCAI is ACF-APPROVED and program accredited by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV)
We are seeking dedicated professionals who are punctual, respectful to customers, students, and staff, and committed to upholding the high standards set by SCHEV.
The Culinary Educator will follow textbooks and an approved curriculum, while bringing their expertise, personal experience, and an engaging presence to the classroom to create a dynamic learning environment.

Responsibilities:
-Deliver professional culinary education in adherence to the MCAI curriculum using approved textbooks and program materials.
-Teach, assess and grade students in areas such as foundational cooking techniques, advanced culinary methods, and kitchen management.
-Maintain a structured and disciplined classroom environment conducive to serious culinary training.
-Track and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
-Collaborate with the administration to ensure all lessons and assessments align with MCAI standards and accreditation requirements.
-Uphold safety, sanitation, and operational standards in the teaching kitchen.
Requirements:
Must have ServSafe Manager’s License
Professional culinary degree and/or extensive experience in culinary arts, with a strong understanding of kitchen operations and techniques.
Previous experience teaching or training in a professional setting is highly desirable.
Knowledge of culinary industry trends and best practices.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Commitment to following and delivering MCAI’s approved curriculum.
Availability for varied schedules, including day and evening classes, and working on the recreational side at Cookology.
