The Director of Sales at the Metropolitan at the 9 is responsible for the selling efforts on behalf of the hotel in accordance with the objectives established in the sales and marketing plan. The Director of Sales ensures sales and bookings are focused on yielding maximum revenue per available guest room and any meeting or event space.

Responsibilities:
- Hire, train, coach, and mentor all members of the sales team.
- Solicit, negotiate, and book new business through proactive direct sales efforts.
- Build on existing relationships to maintain and grow current customer and account base.
- Capture your client’s vision and effectively convey their needs and requests within the hotel.
- Respond to all client inquiries, requests and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop rapport with key industry players in the community
- Plan for success by participating in weekly sales meetings
Qualifications:
- At least a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Sales Manager, with prior hotel sales experience.
- Experience dealing with/communicating with ownership and groups.
- Experience working collaboratively with revenue management & operation teams.
- Well-rounded knowledge of all markets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate & drive a direct sales team; and develop a cooperative &competitive team spirit & winning attitude.
- Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
