Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using hand tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and detailed project plans to determine the scope of work and select appropriate materials.
- Perform surface preparation tasks including plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, and drywall finishing to create smooth bases for painting.
- Execute renovation and restoration projects by working on framing, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and general maintenance tasks.
- Use construction estimating skills to assess project requirements accurately and manage time effectively on-site.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to construction site protocols and operating equipment such as welding tools or scaffolding safely.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or construction painting with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and airless paint spraying equipment.
- Knowledge of color theory to select appropriate finishes that meet client specifications.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and schematics for precise project execution.
- Basic math skills for measuring surfaces and calculating paint quantities accurately.
- Experience with plastering, caulking, stucco application, masonry work, framing carpentry, trim carpentry or renovation projects is highly desirable.
- Construction site experience including safety awareness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces.
